pH Buffer
Neutralize spent descaling agents after the descaling process.

pH-Buffer is a non-toxic neutralizing agent used after the descaling process has been completed.

pH-Buffer is used to neutralize spent descaling agents once the descaling process has been completed. This neutralized descaler may be flushed to sewer, or disposed of in accordance with local authority requirements.

When neutralizing acids with pH-Buffer, including strong varieties such as hydrochloric based descalers, a chemical reaction turns the acids into harmless by-products, such as mineral salts and carbon dioxide.

pH-Buffer is a high grade of naturally occurring carbonate. This media is an inexpensive option for bringing acidic water to a neutral, less corrosive pH. One of the greatest advantages of pH-Buffer compared to other acid neutralizing agents is its self-limiting property. pH-Buffer when applied correctly, will only correct the pH enough to reach a non-corrosive equilibrium, and will not over-correct and make the water too alkaline.

pH-Buffer is also used to neutralize acidic drinking water. With pH-Buffer neutralizer tanks are able to easily neutralize acidic water from 5.8 - 6.6 pH. Common causes of acidic water include acid rainfall due to airborne pollutants, the composition of soil and bedrock through which the groundwater moves, coal mine drainage, chemical dumping, plant decomposition, local flooding and other natural disasters. Acidic water can be identified by blue staining (from copper pipes) or red rust staining (from iron pipes) left on pipes, fixtures, and in sinks.

The more corrosive nature of acidic water can cause toxic metals such as lead, copper, zinc, iron, and manganese to leach into your water from your pipes, leading to a number of health concerns. It can also cause your pipes to deteriorate at a much faster rate, leading to pinhole leaks and over time, total pipe failure. This can burden you and your family with huge expenses to replace the infrastructure. Acidic water can also leave water tasting sour or metallic. pH-Buffer is also used to lower pH waters to a neutral for less corrosive effluent.
